DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Michal Ostrowski (OAUJ)\n\nThis presentation provide
s a review of recent findings from our group research on natural Extremely
Low Frequency (ELF) electromagnetic waves\, covering the frequency range
from 0.03 to 1000 Hz. These waves\, generated by lightning discharges duri
ng thunderstorms across the globe\, propagate over global distances within
a spherical resonance cavity formed by the Earth's surface and the ionosp
here. Our measurements\, carried out as part of the World Radiolocation EL
F Array (WERA\, http://www.oa.uj.edu.pl/WERA) project and using our newly
installed ELA11 magnetic sensor in the Bieszczady Mountains\, have applica
tions across various fields in geophysics and astrophysics. These include
contributions to gravitational wave research\, studies on the sources of T
errestrial Gamma Ray Flashes (TGFs)\, investigations into the effects of s
olar flares on ionospheric structure and ELF wave propagation\, as well as
research on ionospheric irregularities\, particularly the day-night termi
nator. Our measurements have also captured electromagnetic signatures of t
he Hunga Tonga volcano eruption. I will conclude with an overview of our c
urrent plans for the expansion/modernization of the WERA infrastructure.\n
